The Insight3 HD Electric Line Camera is a next-generation “hybrid” design, combining the large flash storage of a memory camera with the real-time feedback of an e-line or fiber system. This combination allows the operator to effectively direct and tweak camera position and functions while downhole, as well as have a broadcast-quality high definition color video at the end of the run.
Insight3 is able to operate from the vast majority of electric line cable used in the oil and gas industry, whether single or multi-conductor. Operation over more than 30,000′ (9,000m) of 7/32″ wireline is possible. With a wireline unit already on site or nearby, the tool and top-side electronics are small enough to be transported by air to a job site, greatly reducing intervention time.
Imagery and telemetry data from the tool are transmitted to the top-side receiver in real time. This data is viewed and stored via a laptop computer, and may be saved to removable media and/or electronically sent from location. A freely-distributable viewer allows all stakeholders the opportunity to easily browse and interpret well data.
Obtaining images of a wellbore obstruction or wireline fish allows operators to fully understand what they are up against. Validating downhole conditions can help determine the best course of action, increasing the likelihood of a successful intervention while reducing the operator’s overall risk and associated costs.
